All is not lost though. If you spend a little time on working out what is lacking in your life, you can start to reallocate your time to the things that really matter to you. HOW TO: CRANK YOUR MOJO

It can be hard to keep our minds sharp and engaged, especially when we are tired and stressed out. The modern work life is often one that lacks balance with our home life and passions. Being constantly “on” can be hard, but it can be even harder when you can feel that you have run out of gas and are at risk of burning out. If you have lost your spark, your mojo is feeling a little flaky or perhaps you feel that you are feeling like you have run out of juice, here are some of my road tested remedies to get that mojo cranking again! Hit the hay I have put this first as I do believe that this is one of the single most important things that you can do to recharge. Sleep. Sleep is really, really good for you, seriously. Most of us don’t get anywhere near the amount (or more importantly the DEEP sleep that we need – REM) that our bodies and brains need. It is REM sleep that …

LIFE: 5 STEPS TO CREATE YOUR PERFECT LIFE

I love to share the nuggets that I have stumbled upon whilst getting my hot mess self into order. I have obsessively consumed everything that I could on goals, habits, challenges, obstacles and most importantly success. To be very clear, I am not interested in success as a whole. I wanted to really dig deep to work out what my success was. What did I want to set out to achieve (and not what others considered successful!) and then how do I go about achieving it? Like many things in life. It is important to know that nothing is a quick fix. It is about a mind shift and making conscious decisions. Which lets be honest, you are already on your way if you are reading this! Here are 5 things that I have learnt to reset myself… 1. START THE DAY LIKE YOU MEAN IT How you wake up in the morning determines how the rest of your day will go. Think about the mornings where you sleep through the alarm, your race out of …

ETIQUETTE: A lesson in packing

I am not a light traveller. I just don’t do it well. I can’t decide so I try and take it all. Packing for winter and staving off the cold – fashionably of course darling!? Fu-ged-about-it! Ok, it really isn’t that bad. There are some golden rules that stop you from packing as if you are never going to see another shop again or even worse. The cardinal sin of packing without a plan. That means getting to your destination with toothpaste and no toothbrush. Odd shoes. No hair brush and to top it off the highest pair of heels in your wardrobe and you will not be painting the town red. All a true story! As I am setting my sights on the winter wonderland that is Queenstown, here is a guide to pack fashionably and without deep regret… 1. Time First things first. Don’t leave your packing to the last minute whether that be 10 mins before you head out the door or if you are shattered the night before. You won’t have …

HOW TO: Get better sleep

One thing (ahem, of many) that I struggle with on a regular basis is lack of sleep.  Like seriously sleep deprived. If it wasn’t bouts of insomnia then it was extremely light sleep patterns. Then, add to this one pug puppy and boom. I. Am. Knackered. Exhausted. Worn out. Zombie! A study by Jawbone, the makers of the digital activity-monitor wristband UP, Tokyo is the world’s most sleep-deprived city, with residents averaging five hours and 44 minutes per night. Melbourne was the most well-rested with six hours and 58 minutes – still an hour short of the ideal eight – and probably closer to what the majority of us are getting, if we are lucky! A lack of sleep is also the absolute worst thing that we can do for our beauty regime. Think dry, dull skin. Tired eyes with dark bags. Dare I say it, wrinkles… “I call deep sleep a free form of cosmetic medicine,” says leading US dermatologist Dr Rachael Eckel. “Repair mechanisms within our cells respond to the body’s natural 24-hour clock, …
